    Triton pressure relief device (PRD) 83301330.

    A pressure relief device (PRD) is a safety device in Triton electric showers. If water is unable to exit through the shower head, an excess of pressure can build, which in time will damage components of the shower. The PRD will blow allowing this pressure to escape, preventing damage to the heater tank and other components.

    A blown PRD cannot be replaced under warranty - it is a consumable part designed to fail.

    When a pressure relief device blows, it is usually a sign of another underlying problem, such as a blocked shower head or a kinked hose. Do not replace the PRD until the root cause has been rectified, because you will likely end up experiencing another blown PRD if this isn't sorted first.

      I have the following product: Triton T80 Easi-Fit+, and the 'pressure relief safety device' activates when you try to use the shower. I have checked both the hose line and shower head which are both clear. The shower is in a property that we have brought, so have never used it in the past. The manufacture date is 09/20, wondered if you could advise accordingly in any way as to the best way to resolve this issue? many thanks.

      Hi,
      The PRD is a one time fail device, so once it has failed for any reason (such as a blocked head or hose previously), it has to be replaced. This is due to the ball or burst disc failing, so the valve outlet is now permanently open.
      On your model shower (T80 Easi Fit +), it's not the 83301330 PRD you need, it would be the 82800450 version, which can be found here: https://www.showerspares.com/search/triton_pressure_relief_device_prd_82800450/

      Hello,we have just downloaded the parts breakdown for the Panache thermostatic and it lists the 82800450 as the PRD.

    • I have a triton Jade shower and I believe the shower head was so blocked up with lime scale the PDR has blown. I believe my shower is the First model jade. Is it still as easy to change the PDR as it appears to be on Jade 2 and 3. I see you have the part number 83301330 available. Does the replacement of this part mean a bigger strip down of the shower unit than those for Jade 2 and 3?

      Hello, it is slightly harder to change as it is in the base of the heater tank, so the outlet pipe needs to be removed to access the PRD. 83301330 is the correct part
