• The new genuine Mira thermostatic cartridge assembly is a direct and exact replacement for the existing assembly. (the old assembly was approx. 12years old! The temp range had decreased to tepid!)
  It came with a very good and simple to follow removal and installation instruction leaflet.
  N.B: I would highlight that the temperature control level on the new assembly has to be set prior to use. (this is a simple process explained in the leaflet).
  I was experiencing low water temperature at the shower head. This replacement part fixed the problem.
  I now have a full range of temperature control in the Mira Discovery Shower.
  Prior to fitting the new cartridge assembly I had to clean a light build up of limescale in the body of the shower unit, I used some very fine wet & dry paper, this has worked well.
  There is a tiny sachet of silicone grease supplied with the new assembly, IMO this is completely insufficient for lubricating the contact surfaces and O ring seals. Fortunately I had additional silicone grease.
  The new assembly cartridge needs to be gently eased back into the shower body so that the O ring seals are not damaged.
  The ordering and delivery process was excellent from National Shower Spares.
