      Hello, the grease is to smear on the seals, to stop them binding when installing the cartridge into the body. It is always handy to have a seal kit, as some of the seals do not come with the cartridge.

    • Can I fit this in place of a black cartridge?

      No, there are no inlet check valves in this cartridge they are built into the valve body, if you fit the 902.91 instead of the 902.55, you will not have any check valves and you could get bad water hammer, vice versa, if you fit a 902.55 inplace of the 902.91 you could end up with double check valves which could upset the combi boiler, always fit like for like
