    • Correct item, delivered promptly, works perfectly. I have a Mira Coda Pro ERD MK1 Thermostatic Bar Mixer Shower. It was leaking from the right hand end, which is the temperature setting end. The correct part is this one, the Mira Thermostatic Cartridge Assembly (1744.108).
Fitting: I turned off the water supply and turned on the shower flow (left hand end) to drain it. Popped out the screw cover from the end of the temperature setting knob (can be done with fingernails or carefully with a small screwdriver). Removed the Philips screw that secures the knob on the splined end of the thermostatic cartridge. At that point it should have been easy to pull off the knob, but it was very tightly stuck onto the spline because of the leak (corrosion and deposits etc). I squirted WD40 in the screw hole to try to loosen it. I used a rubber glove to try to pull it off. After about 15 minutes of struggling to free it, I could see a slight gap opening up, and I finally managed to pull it off. Next issue was removing the plastic temperature stop, which was also quite well stuck. Some careful leverage from a flat headed screwdriver helped. Next, the retaining nut that secures the cartridge into the body of the shower had to be removed. My large adjustable spanner was big enough to fit but would just slip off and round the corners of the nut. However with a pipe wrench I was able to apply enough pressure to keep it on the nut and loosen it. The cartridge popped out easily with the nut. I wiped the body of the shower and the nut. When putting the new cartridge in, I don't think it matters how you orient it when it goes in, as you adjust it afterwards. The splined shaft of the cartridge was rotated fully clockwise when I put it in, i.e. to the coldest setting. Getting the retaining nut back in was fiddly as I was worried about crossing the threads. Keeping the flow valve of the shower open helps because there is then no water pressure from water draining out of your pipes. I got the nut back in and tightened it - no leaks. Then put the plastic temperature stop component back on, in the correct position as indicated on the instructions that came with the cartridge, and slid the temperature setting knob onto the spline with the mark pointing to position 7, but without screwing it in place. At that point I turned the water back on and started testing the temperature. As it was coming out cold at that point with the mark at position 7, I slid the knob off, rotated it clockwise (to a lower number) and slid it back on again, then turned it to 7. The water was warmer but not hot enough, so I continued to slide the knob off, turn it clockwise by half a mark, slide it back on and turn it to 7, until the temperature at 7 was correct. This adjustment was very easy. Finally I screwed the knob in place and replaced the screw cover.
