• The manufacturer has improved the product compared with the hinge set that came with the seat originally. The hinge head and threaded stud are in one piece, so the problem I had of the head stripping out would be much harder. Also a strip of rubber fixed to the top of the slotted washer makes a tight fit and levelling up much easier, and avoids risk of overtightening. I expect this to last much longer.
